Greenwood, MO: 6 ft Woodland Select Vinyl Privacy Fence
Two neighboring Greenwood backyards fenced in 6 ft Woodland Select vinyl — Chestnut on one, Gray with white posts on the other. Full backyard enclosure around a gazebo, patio, and kids' play area.

What the homeowner was up against
- Both homeowners had watched neighbors' cedar fences gray out and cup within three to four summers of full Missouri sun.
- One yard is a full family play space — playhouse, swing set, slide, rose garden — so the fence had to be a solid barrier with no toe-holds or gaps at grade.
- The second yard wraps a hardtop gazebo and patio set, so the fence line had to hold a clean sightline across a graded slope instead of stair-stepping visibly.
What we specified, and why
Vinyl over cedar for a zero-maintenance run
Woodland Select tongue-and-groove panels give a fully solid privacy face with no gaps between boards, and the color is through-body rather than surface-applied, so there is no staining or sealing cycle. Over 20 years that removes roughly five to seven stain cycles from the homeowner's budget — the reason vinyl usually wins on lifetime cost even though it costs more up front.
Color chosen against the house, not the catalog
Chestnut brown reads warm against a beige-and-stone elevation and hides pollen and dust between rinses. Gray with white posts and caps was specified on the second home to pick up the white deck rail and trim. Same panel system, two very different finished looks.
Post depth set for Missouri freeze-thaw
Every post is set in concrete below the local frost line so seasonal heave doesn't lift the run and open the panel joints. This is the single most common failure point we're called to repair on vinyl fences installed by cheaper crews.
Grade followed, not fought
On the sloped run we raked panels with the grade where the fall allowed it and stepped only where it was steep enough to require it, which keeps the top line reading as one continuous horizontal instead of a visible sawtooth.
The result
- Two fully enclosed backyards with a solid 6 ft privacy face and no maintenance obligation beyond an occasional hose rinse.
- Matching gate hardware and post caps so the fence reads as part of the house rather than an add-on.
- Both fences carry Kodiak's 10-year workmanship warranty on top of the manufacturer's vinyl warranty.
What a project like this costs
We don't publish other homeowners' invoices. For scope like this, our published Kansas City vinyl range is the right planning number — it moves with panel color, gate count, grade, and how much demo the old fence needs.
